    Do ADU units have a mini-kitchenette or a full-fledged kitchen?

    All units are different, so it depends on your preferences, available space, and budget. The law does not regulate this matter, so if you decide to build an ADU with a full-sized kitchen or small kitchenette, a dining area, or a vast living room, you can do it, given you abide by laws and regulations. Otherwise, you won’t be able to obtain building permits.

    What are the different types of ADUs?

    There are ADUs that you construct from scratch and ADUs you convert from a basement, a garage, or other structures in your backyard. New-construction ADUs are attached and detached ADUs. The second type is conversions and internal ADUs. Typically, all of them have their own separate entrance.
