There is a way out, and this is an accessory dwelling unit.

      The accessory dwelling unit is a very elegant way out of the difficulties caused by the lack of living space. This is an additional extension to the house or a separate room that you can use for any needs. This will embellish your home and historic district a little and later become a valuable investment.

      But first, to build an accessory dwelling unit in the Sacramento area, you need to know all the laws and understand which applicable building permit you need to apply for the new construction of dwelling units in the state.

      Restrictions on the lot size

      Local authorities of the City of Folsom, CA, do not set any restrictions on the size of your property, it can be of any shape and size, and you have the right to get building accessory dwelling units to permit. Therefore, you do not have to think about whether the minimum meets the requirements.

      The permitted area of your ADU

      The allowed size of your accessory dwelling unit depends on the type of accessory dwelling unit that complies with your needs.       Permitted places

      If you have a territory that allows you to build a new building in addition to the main building and you have a single-family house, then you will have no problems obtaining a building permit. It is also possible to build an accessory dwelling unit for owners of apartments in houses for many families, such as a triplex. However, be careful; you will have to pay the historic district commission if your ADU is located in a historic district.

      The maximum number of ADU

      General Information

      Folsom is a city located in Sacramento County, California. Typically, people know it thanks to well-known Folsom Prison, and, of course, Lake named after it.       Folsom is rich in history. It was named after Joseph Libbey Folsom who managed to buy a rancho out there and develop a town that has been primarily inhabited by gold miners.
